He enlisted in Hull. Served as Gunner, “B” Bty. 71st Bde., Royal Field Artillery. Killed in action on 24/04/1917, aged 21. Buried at Feuchy Chapel, France. His grave reads, THEIR GLORY SHALL NOT BE BLOTTED OUT. His army effects were left to both parents.
