Born Consett, County Durham, 1893. Son of William and Helen Gibson, of 40, Oak Road., Scarborough; husband of Beatrice Alice Dawson (formerly Gibson), of 40, Trafalgar Street, West, Scarborough (CWGC address). He had three brothers and four sisters. An Assistant Gents Hosier (1911 census)
He enlisted in Hull. Served with the 7th Yorkshire Hussars (Alexandra, Princes of Wales’ Own). Killed in action, on 12/05/1917, aged 24. Commemorated on the Arras Memorial, France. His army effects were left to his widow, Beatrice.
