He was employed as a Draper’s Assistant.
Enlisted in Hull, on 8th Feb 1916. Formerly, Private, 22487, 10th East York Regiment (Hull Commercials). Transferred to the 2nd King’s Own Yorkshire Light Infantry, in April 1918. Killed in action, at Sequehart, on 03/10/1918, aged 29. His details are recorded in the UK, De Ruvigny’s Roll of Honour, 1914-1919
