Born Roos, Hull. Son of Hannah Maria Carrick, of Roos, Hull, and the late William Carrick. He assisted his widowed mother, who was a cow keeper and milk seller.
He enlisted in Beverley. Served as Private, 1st/4th Bn., Yorkshire Hussars (Alexandra, Princes of Wales’ Own). Died of wounds, on 06/04/1918, aged 21. Buried in France.
His army effects were left to his mother, Hannah.
