Born Bedale, Yorkshire, 25th August 1898. Son of George Edward Hunter (1856-1916) and Alice Ann Airey, of Hunton, Bedale, Yorkshire (war Pension address). Son of a Road Contractor. He had three brothers and five sisters.
He enlisted in Hull. Formerly 205645, East Yorkshire Regiment. Transferred to the 6th Dorset Regiment. Killed in action, on 24/08/1918, aged 19.
His elder brother, Thomas served in the Army Service Corps.
