BORN WITHERNWICK, YORKSHIRE, 1875. SON OF GEORGE DANBY (1848-1900) AND FRANCES (FANNY) KAY (1851-1907) SON OF A SHOE MAKER AND RAILWAY PORTER. HE HAD FOUR SISTERS AND THREE BROTHERS.

MARRIED AT HULL, JULY 1895. HUSBAND OF LOUISA AMELIA WESTERHOLD (1877-1940), OF 3 SPRING TERRACE, WATERLOO STREET, HULL (1911 CENSUS) AND 24, GORDON AVENUE, CANNON STREET, HULL (WAR PENSION ADDRESS). THEY HAD A SON AND TWO DAUGHTERS. HE WORKED AS A BREWERY, GENERAL LABOURER

SERVED IN THE ROYAL GARRISON ARTILLERY THROUGHOUT THE WAR. HE DIED ON 02/05/1920, AGED 45.

HIS ONLY  SON, FRANK DANBY, WAS AN APPRENTICE IN THE MERCHANT NAVY,  DIED IN 1919, AGED 24..
