Cone, Ernest

Born Hull, 1899. Third Son of Mrs. Martha Cone, of 3, Till Rd. Cottages, Raglan St., Lowestoft (CWGC address) and 12, St Andrews Terrace, Gillett Street, Hessle Road, Hull (1911 Census and War Pension Address). Both Parents were born in Lowestoft. He had five brothers and one sister.

Enlisted in Hull. Formerly 27690, Training Reserve. Battn. Transferred to the 9th King’s Own Yorkshire Light Infantry. Killed in action on 26 April 1918, aged 20. Commemorated on the Tyne Cot Memorial, Belgium.

His army effects were left to his mother, Martha.

His older brother, Thomas Henry Cone, 12/1088, served in the Hull Pals.
