Westcott, Edward Lawrence

Born Grasby, Lincolnshire, 1895. Son of Elton Edward and Leah Elizabeth Wescott, of Grasby, Lincs.

Husband of Annie Westcott, (Born 10/2/1890), of 416, Anlaby Road, Hull (War Pension address).

Originally attached to the 1st Bn. and went to France with that battalion in 13th August, 1914. Served with the 1st and 8th Lincolnshire regiment. Died of Wounds, on 11/05/1917, aged 22.

Buried at Etaples Military Cemetery France. His grave inscription reads, “ASLEEP WITH ENGLAND’S HEROES IN THE WATCHFUL CARE OF GOD”

His army effects were left to his widow, Annie
