Born Hull, 1878. An Oil Miller. Husband of Margaret Middleton of 5, Poplar Grove, Sculcoates Lane, Beverley Road, Hull (1911 Census). Thy had three children, George <Margaret and Annie.
He enlisted on 24/11/1914. Served with the East Riding Yeomanry. Transferred to the 35th Northumberland Fusiliers and then to 155th Protection Company, Royal Defence Corps. Discharged from army on 13/04/1919, with Rhematism.
Awarded the Silver War Badge (No: B342588). Died in Hull on 12 May 1924, aged 46.
