Born York, 1886. Baptised on 7 Nov 1886. Eldest son of Henry Vause (1862-1921) and Sarah Jane Walker ( 1865-1899). His stepmother was Maria Vause. He had three brothers and one sister.
Married at Helston, Cornwall, in 1913. Husband of Gladys Jane Barnett Williams (born 28/12/1893), of Clarendon Villa, Regent Street, Hull (War Pension address). They had one daughter Miriam Ada, born on 10/3/1914.
He enlisted at Helston, Cornwall. Served in the Duke of Cornwall’s Light Infantry, 1st Bn. Killed in action, on 23 August 1918, aged 32. He is buried in France
His army effects were left to his widow, Gladys Jane Barnett Vause.
