Born Routh, East Yorkshire, 1892. Third son of William Stephensonand Jane Elizabeth Dunn, of Routh, Beverley, Yorkshire (CWGC records) and Swanland, near Hull (War Pension address. He had three brothers and three sisters.
Enlisted at Beverley. Served as Acting Bombardier, Royal Field Artillery, “A” Bty., 51st Bde. Killed in action, on 20 Nov 1917, aged 26. Buried at Zuydcoote Military Cemetery, Belgium.
