Londesbrough, Ernest Henry

Ernest Londesborough, killed at Arras, 22/03/1918, aged 31. He lived at 14 Herbert’s Terrace, Westbourne Street, Hull

Born Hull 1885. He was a Fish Packer living at 1 Percy Avenue, Fleetwood, Lancashire (1911 census).

He married Lily Gould at Fylde, Lancashire, in 1912. Husband of Lily Londesbrough, of 14, Herberts Terrace, Strickland Street, Hessle Road, Hull (CWGC address) and 26, Calton Street, Hull (War Pension address). They had two daughters, Lilian May (born 24 may 1915) and Dorothy (born 8 Dec 1917).

He enlisted at Lancaster. Formerly 35320, Royal Lancaster Regiment. Transferred to the 10th Loyal North Lancashire Regiment. Killed in action, on 22 Mar 1918, aged 31.

Commemorated on the Arras Memorial, France.  His army effects were left to his widow. Lily.
