Born Bootle, Liverpool, 1893. Eldest Son of John and Mary Elizabeth Humphreys at 6, Sussex Street, Bootle (1911 Census) and 94, Crowle Street, Hedon Road, Hull (War pension address). He had a brother and three sisters. Worked as a Labourer at a Rubber Works, Liverpool.
He enlisted at Bootle. Served with the 13th The King’s (Liverpool Regiment). Killed in action, at Thiepval, on 22 Aug 1916, aged 23.
Buried at Cambrin Churchyard Extension, france. his army effects were left to his mother, Mary E.
