Born Skipsea, Yorkshire, 1881. Son of Thomas Frankish (1849-1924) and Betsy Jane Suddaby (1853-1925).

He worked as a Bricklayer and Plasterer. Lived at 96. Somerset Street, Hessle Road, Hull (1911 census)

Married Helena Patrick, at Harley Street Registry Office, on 7th August 1915. Lived at 17, Poplar Avenue, Reynoldson Street, Hull (army address) and 31, Cecil Street, Hawthorne Avenue, Hull (War pension address). They had one son, Thomas Wilford, born on 6th Nov 1915.

He enlisted at Hull on 10th Dec 1915. Called up on 11th June 1916. Formerly, Private, 25581, East Yorkshire regiment. Transferred to the 12th Labour (South Staffs) Bn. Posted to France, on 11th July 1916. Served with the Army Service Corps, Labour Company. Returned to England on 14th August 1916. Discharged on 7th September 1916, after 273 days army service, with “Locomotor Ataxia” (presumed to be a reference to syphilis). Sent to the Hornsea and East Riding Asylum. Classed as a “Lunatic”. Died on 07/09/1918, aged 37.

His widow remarried and moved to Westgate, Hornsea and then to 31, Cecil Street, Hawthorne Avenue, Hull
