Served in the Lincolnshire Regiment, & 6th Princess Charlotte of Wales’s (Royal Berkshire) Regiment. Killed in action, on 19 January 1917, aged 34.
Buried at Aveluy Communal Cemetery Extension, FRANCE. His army effects were left to his widow, Eva Kate.
He is also remembered on the family grave at Barrow-Upon-Humber Cemetery – John Chafer, of New Holland, died 29th May 1917 aged 58. Ellen Chafer, wife, died 21st April 1932, aged 70. Ernest John Beacock husband of Kate Beacock, killed in action in France, 19th January 1917 aged 34
