Henderson, William David

Born Hull, 19 Jan 1884. Son of Alexander Grant Henderson (1856-1930) and Annie Elizabeth Henderson (1859-1918), of 446, Hessle Road Hull (1911 census). Son of a provisions Merchant. He had two brothers, George Albert and Francis Irwin. He was a Railway Labourer before the war.

He enlisted on 21 May 1915 and served with the Royal Marines. Discharged with insanity and Committed to the Hull City Asylum, Willerby, Hull. He died at the Mental hospital in 1931, aged 48.

His brother, George Albert Henderson was lost in the North Sea, on the Steamship “Expedient”,  28th March 1917, aged 31 – On March 28th, 1917, Expedient was scuttled by the German submarine UC-75 (Johannes Lohs), in the North Sea.
