Born Hull, 1893. Fifth son of George and Mary Richardson, of 11, Kates Terrace, Sculcoates Lane, Hull. Son of a bricklayer. He had four older brothers and three sisters.

Enlisted 10 Aug 1914. Posted 7 July 1915. Served overseas, in the Royal Field Artillery, 211th Brigade. Wounded in the back by gun shot. Discharged on 20 Jun 1919. Awarded the Silver War Badge (No: B328417). He was an out of work Gas Labourer (1921 census). Died on 11 Dec 1922, aged 29.
His brother, Elijah Richardson, 13/201, 11th EYR, was killed in action, on 28 Jun 1918, aged 33 and lived at 9 Eastern Avenue, Bournemouth Street, Hull.
