Born Beverley, 1879. Son of the late George William & Jane Jameson, of 24, Mill Lane, Beverley; Son of a Draper.
Married at Beverley, on 7 Sep 1904. husband of Sarah Elizabeth Jameson, of 131 Grovehill Road (army address) and 169, Grovehill Road, Beverley, Yorkshire (CWGC address). He worked as a Gas Rental & Collecting Clerk (1911 census)
Enlisted at Beverley, on 10/12/1915. Mobilized on 26/6/1916. Posted to France on 1/7/1916. Formerly 26073, East Yorkshire Regiment. Transferred to the 1/5th Durham Light Infantry. Died of wounds, on 28/03/1918, aged 38.
Commemorated on the Pozieres Memorial, Somme, France.
He left £452 in his will to his widow, Sarah and three young children, Muriel, Marjorie and George William. She was also awarded a weekly war pension of 29/7 shillings on 28 Oct 1918.
