Enlisted at Beverley. Served in the 20th Battalion (Tyneside Scottish). Died of wounds, on 7 Nov 1916, aged 26. Buried at Trois Arbres Cemetery, Steenwerck, France.
His army effects were left to his widow, Ethel.
His name is recorded on the Beverley WW1 Memorial.
