He was an Engine Cleaner for the North Eastern Railway, living at 1, Spring Gardens, Hawthorne Avenue, Hull (Army address) and 77, South Parade, Hull (1921 Census). He married Sarah Ann Smelt and had five children. Died at Hull, on 20 Jan 1925, aged 32.
