Born Hull, 1895. Son of George and Isabella Simpson, of 56, Tower Street, Gateshead-on-Tyne. Employed as a Plumber and lived at 56, Tower Street, Gateshead, (CWGC address). Served in the 1/9th Durham Light Infantry. Killed in action, on 28/09/1915, aged 20. Commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial, Somme, France.
