1/10th (City of London) Battalion (Hackney) & 1/11th (County of London) Battalion (Finsbury Rifles)
04.08.1914 The 1/10th stationed at Hackney and the 1/11th stationed at Pentonville both as part of the 3rd London Brigade of the 1st London Division and then moved to Bullswater, Pirbright and then Crowborough.
April 1915 Transferred to the East Midland Brigade of the East Anglian Division and then moved to Norwich.
07.05.1915 The formation became the 162nd Brigade of the 54th Division and then moved to St. Albans.
July 1915 Embarked for Mudros from Plymouth.
11.08.1915 Landed at Suvla Bay and engaged in various Operations against the Turkish Army in the Suvla Bay area.
Dec 1915 Evacuated from Gallipoli to Egypt due to severe casualties from combat, disease and harsh weather (only 240 Officers and 4480 men remained of the Division when it was evacuated).
