2/1st (City of London) Battalion (Royal Fusiliers)
Sept 1914 Formed in London and then moved to Kent to join the 2/1st London Brigade of the 2/1st London Division.
Feb 1915 Deployed to Malta.
27.08.1915 Deployed to Alexandria.
25.09.1915 Landed at Suvla Bay attached to the 88th Brigade of the 29th Division and engaged in various actions against the Turkish Army including;
1915
First Battle of Krithia, the Second Battle of Krithia, the Third Battle of Krithia, the Battle of Gully Ravine, the Battle of Krithia Vineyard, the Battle of Scimitar Hill.
Jan 1916 Evacuated from Gallipoli to Egypt due to severe casualties from combat, disease and harsh weather attached to the 53rd Division.
April 1916 Deployed to France landing at Marseilles and then moved to Rouen.
June 1916 Disbanded in France.
