20th (Labour) Battalion
May 1916 Formed at Derby and then deployed to France as part of the 5th Army Troops.
April 1917 Transferred to the Labour Corps as the 28th & 29th Labour Companies.
BORN SALISBURY, WILTSHIRE, 1888. HIS WIFE, LOUISA GRAY LAWRENCE LIVED AT CROWN SETTLEMENT, NEAR PATRINGTON. AND SUNK ISLAND. HE ENLISTED IN HULL. SERVED AS LANCE CORPORAL, WITH THE 20TH SHERWOOD FORESTER. HE DIED OF WOUNDS, ON 25/10/1916, AGED 28. HE IS BURIED ON THE SOMME. HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS WIDOW, LOUISA.
BORN HESSLE 1884. WIFE ANNIE ELIZA SIBBORN. SON OF W SIBBON. HIS NAME IS RECORDED ON THE HESSLE ROLL OF HONOUR, ALL SAINTS PARISH CHURCH.
