SERVED AS LANCE CORPORAL, WITH THE 20TH SHERWOOD FORESTER. HE DIED OF WOUNDS, ON 25/10/1916, AGED 28. HE IS BURIED ON THE SOMME. HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS WIDOW, LOUISA.
