Born Hull, 1883. Husband of Hilda Emily Smith, of Hazelden, Keyingham (War Pension address). They had one son, Francis, born on 25th July 1915. He enlisted in Hull. Served as Gunner, 51st Brigade, Royal Field Artillery. Killed in action, on 21/03/1918, aged 35. Commemorated on the Pozieres memorial, France.
