Born 1890, Leeming, Hambleton District, North Yorkshire, England. Son of Mary Jane Dobby of Bishop Burton, Beverley (war pension address). he was a railway clerk. Enlisted at Leyburn, Yorkshire. Served as Sergeant, Royal Field Artillery, “C” Bty. 58th Bde. Killed in action, on 25 Apr 1918, aged 27 Buried at Hersin Communal Cemetery Extension, France.
