Born Hull, Yorkshire, 1885. Son of the Right Reverend, Philip Kemball Fyson (1846-1928), D.D. (formerly Bishop of Hokkaido, Japan), and Eleanor Fyson (1850-1935), of Elmley Lovett Rectory, Droitwich, Worcs. He had four brothers and four sisters.
