Born Goole, 1892. Son of George Thomas Bowers and Martha Bowers, of Burton on Stather, Lincolnshire. He enlisted in Hull. Served as lance Corporal in the 1/4th Seaforth Highlanders. Native of Horncastle, Lincolnshire, 1888. Son of Harriet Kidd, of Gedney, Drove End, Long Sutton, Wisbech (CWGC address). A general Labourer. He enlisted in Hull.
