BORN HULL 1892. SON OF EMIL AGERSKOW (1854-1921) & LILIAN STOW (1863-1927), OF 17 CHOLMLEY STREET, HULL & 153 NORWOOD, BEVERLEY. ONE OF SIX CHILDREN. HIS FATHER WAS BORN IN DENMARK. HE WAS A GROCER’S ASSISTANT BEFORE THE WAR. HIS FATHER WAS A MARKET GARDENER. HE ENLISTED WITH HIS FOUR BROTHERS. HE SERVED WITH THE 1/4TH EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. KILLED IN ACTION, OUTSIDE SERRE, ON 09/11/1916, AGED 24. HE WAS UNMARRIED AND LEFT £115 TO HIS FATHER IN HIS WILL. THIS WAS HIS PROBATE ADDRESS.
HE IS BURIED AT WARLENCOURT BRITISH CEMETERY, PAS DE CALAIS, FRANCE. HIS GRAVE INSCRIPTION, READS, “THE SHADOW, EVER HOVERING, HE MET AT MERCY’S CALL, MOTHER’S SACRIFICE”
HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL ON 04/12/1916. HE IS COMMEMORATED ON THE NORWOOD STREET, MEMORIAL, BEVERLEY WITH HIS BROTHERS CHARLES (MERCANT NAVY) , CHRISTAIN (EAST RIDING YEOMANRY) AND SOREN (EYR) WHO WAS WOUNDED IN THE WAR.
