Born Hull, 1875. Son of Thomas James Alexander (1846-1904) and Ester Chase. Worked as a Rullyman for ship’s cargo. An Army Reservist with the 3rd East Yorkshire Regiment. He was described as 5 foot, 9 inches tall, 119 lbs weight, 35-37 inch chest, brown eyes, dark brown hair, Church of England religion.
He married Florence May Garside (1877-1957), at Hull, on 25/08/1906. They had four children and lived at 9, Beaufort Terrace, Campbell Street, Hull (War Pension address).
He enlisted at Hull, on 10/09/1914. Discharged 105 days later, with Tuberculosis, contracted on active service. Died on 17/10/1916, aged 41.
