BORN HULL 29/05/1867. SON OF JOHN & MARGARET ALLSOP. FIREMAN OH THE HULL TUG ‘CLANSMAN’. DROWNED ON 12/04/1915, AGED 48, WITH THE CHIEF ENGINEER, S. CUNDALL, AGED 59, FROM STANIFORTH PLACE, HULL. JOHN ALLSOP LEFT A WIDOW, ANNIE (HUGHES) & 10 CHILDREN. HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE THE HULL TIMES, ON 27/03/1915. HE WAS A MEMBER OF THE HULL GARDENER SOCIETY AND IS RECORDED ON THEIR WW1 MEMORIAL AT HULL TRINITY CHURCH.
THERE IS NO CWGC RECORD OF HIS DEATH OR HIS SHIP MATE.
