BORN HULL 1896. ELDEST SON OF JOHN ALFRED AMOS (1863-1940) & ESTHER JANE AMOS (1867-1940), OF 141 , ST PAULS STREET, HULL (CWGC ADDRESS). AN ERRAND BOY. HIS FATHER WORKED IN AN IRON FOUNDRY. HE ENLISTED IN HULL. ARRIVED IN FRANCE, ON 29/12/1915. SERVED AS CORPORAL, IN THE 7TH EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. AWARDED THE MILITARY MEDAL (MM) FOR BRAVERY. DIED OF WOUNDS, ON 11/07/1918, AGED 22. HE IS BURIED AT ST. SEVER CEMETERY EXTENSION, ROUEN, FRANCE.
UNMARRIED. HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS FATHER, JOHN. HIS WAR PENSION WENT TO HIS MOTHER ESTHER.
HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL, ON 11/07/1919. HE LEFT YOUNGER BROTHER, JOHN EDWARD AMOS AND SISTER, ELIZA ANN AMOS.
