Born Hull, 1895. Son of George and Mrs. Sarah Jane Anderson, of 5, Symon’s St., Fountain Rd., Hull. Before the war, Arthur managed the fish shop on Fountain Road.
He enlisted in Hull. Served in the 4th East Yorkshire Regiment, Was killed by a bomb on 14/07/1914, aged 21. His army effects were left to his mother, Sarah Jane.
His death is reported in the Hull daily Mail, on 11/08/1916. *
His brother also served in France and Belgium.
