HE MARRIED ADA CAMPBELL LOWE, AND HAD A DAUGHTER, ENID, BORN ON 22/01/1916. THE FAMILY LIVED AT 13, GLADSTONE ROAD, SEACOMBE, CHESHIRE AND 31 LYNDMARSH STREET, FOUNTAIN ROAD, HULL (ARMY ADDRESS).
HE ENLISTED IN HULL, ON 06/10/1914, AGED 26 YEARS. AS A BUILDER HE WAS POSTED AS 472259, TO THE EAST RIDING ROYAL ENGINEERS. HE ARRIVED IN FRANCE, ON 17/09/1917. TRANSFERRED TO THE 1/7TH DURHAM LIGHT INFANTRY, ON 21/09/1917. KILLED IN ACTION, ON 25/10/1917, AGED 29. BURIED IN BELGIUM. HE HAD SERVED FOR 3 YEARS AND 21 DAYS.
