ENLISTED AT ST PANCRAS, LONDON. EX 17244, ROYAL WEST KENT REGIMENT. TRANSFERRED TO THE 13TH LONDON REGIMENT. SHOT THROUGH THE HEAD, WHILST WORKING A LEWIS GUN. DIED OF WOUNDS, ON 11/04/1917, AGED 38. BURIED AT DUISANS BRITISH CEMETERY, ETRUN, FRANCE. HIS GRAVE INSCRIPTION, READS, “GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN”.
