HIS WIFE, ISABELLA O’NEIL AND THEIR FOUR CHILDREN LIVED AT 2 PROVIDENCE TERRACE, WALKER STREET, HULL (THIS ARMY RECORDS ADDRESS). EMPLOYED AS A PAINTER. HE SERVED IN THE LANARK YEOMANRY BEFORE WW1. DESCRIBED AS 5 FOOT 7.5 INCHES TALL, 140 LBS, 36.5 INCH CHEST. HE ENLISTED HULL, 30/11/1914, JOINING THE 4TH EYR, AGED 25 YEARS AND TWO MONTHS. HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS WIDOW, ISABELLA. SHE AND HER FOUR CHILDREN RETURNED TO GLASGOW AFTER HIS DEATH.
