DEATH FOLLOWS DOCK ACCIDENT.

Dock Charles Frederick Baked (34), of the East Yorkahire., stationed in the district, whose home is at 8, Union-place. English-street, has died in Hull Infirmary. The circumstances were reported to
Colonel Thorney (the Coroner) to-day. According to Robert Metcalf, night watchman, about 10.15 p.m. on August 8th, he was on duty at the workmens entrance at Marfleet, when he saw deceased walking from the direction of the dock.
His arm was bleeding. Medcalf rendered first aid, and Baker was taken to the Infirmary and attended by Dr Renwick for severe laceration of the right forearm, and died yesterday. Deceased had told Sergt. Foster that he left home, where he had been staying, on the evening of August 8th, to see a friend who was working the dock. He was walking along the low level crossing, and was in the 6ft.
when a train of waggons approached. He stumbled and fell, and in endeavouring to save himself his forearm came in contact with something under one of them.
