Enlisted in the Hull Pals, aged 19. Served with the 13th EYR in Egypt and France. Survived the Battles of the Somme and Oppy Wood. Transferred to the 1st East Yorkshire Regiment. Killed in action, on 07/10/1918, aged 23. He is commemorated on the Vis-En-Artois Memorial, France.
His army effects were left to his mother, Eliza Mary.
