He married Lily Large (1878-1952) at Hull in 1900, aged 24. They had five children. He worked as a bricklayer.
He left widow, Lily at 2 Woodbine Villas Reynoldson St Newland Avenue (1911 Census) and 8, Egan Terrace, Strickland Street, Hull (War Pension address)
