HUSBAND OF LILLY WALLIS (LATER PORTER), LIVED AT 5, BROOKSIDE VILLAS, ST MARKS STREET, HULL (WAR PENSION ADDRESS).
HE WAS A NORTH EASTERN RAILWAY WORKER & TIN SMITH LABOURER (1911 CENSUS).
HE ENLISTED IN HULL. JOINING THE EAST RIDING ARTILLERY. TRANSFERRED AS A GUNNER, IN THE 77TH ROYAL GARRISON ARTILLERY. KILLED IN ACTION, ON 19/11/1917, AGED 29. HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS WIDOW, LILY.
HE IS BURIED AT KLEIN-VIERSTRAAT BRITISH CEMETERY. HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL, ON 17/12/1917 & 29/12/1917.
