HE MARRIED, ETHEL JACKSON (188-1942) ) ON 09/04/1914, AT ST PETERS CHURCH, DRYPOOL, HULL. THEY LIVED AT 105, ARUNDEL STREET, HULL (WAR PENSION ADDRESS), WITH THEIR DAUGHTER, GLADYS IRENE BATEMAN (1915-1992). HE WORKED AS A MARINE ENGINEER AND COAL TRIMMER.
HE ENLISTED IN THE HULL PALS, ON 30/11/1914. FORMERLY, PRIVATE, 899, EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. TRANSFERRED AS PRIVATE, 27261, TO THE ACCRINGTON PALS. KILLED IN ACTION, ON 26/08/1916, AGED 26. COMMEMORATED ON THE LOOS MEMORIAL, FRANCE. HE LIVED AT 195 ARUNDLE STREET, HULL (WAR PENSION ADDRESS).
