Born Dorchester, Dorset, 1894. Son of Thomas James Benjafield, of 4, Colliton Street, Dorchester, Dorset. He had two brothers, Reginald James and William and one sister, Ethel May. He was a Baker.
He enlisted in Hull, on 13th Jan 1915. Served in the Royal Army Service Corps, 51st Field Bakery. He drowned whilst bathing, in Alexandria Docks, on 06/07/1915, aged 21.
He is commemorated at the Chatby War Memorial Cemetery, Egypt (CWGC Records).
His brother, William 6755, Dorset Regiment was killed in action, on 3rd December 1914.
