HE ENLISTED IN CENTRAL HULL. SERVED WITH THE 7TH DUKE OF CORNWALL LIGHT INFANTRY. HE WAS KILLED IN ACTION, ON 16/08/1917, AGED 20. COMMEMORATED ON THE TYNE COT MEMORIAL. UNMARRIED. HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS FATHER WILLIAM. LISTED IN TRINITY & ST VINCENT CHURCH BUT NOT ON SCULCOATES MEMORIAL.
