Blowman, Arthur

BORN HULL 1889. SON OF THOMAS BLOWMAN (1844-1915) & JANE ANN NOBEL (1860-1942), OF HULL. ONE OF SEVEN CHILDREN.

HE MARRIED AT SCULCOATES, IN 1911. HIS WIFE EFFIE VIOLA ALLEN (1892-1966), LIVED WITH THEIR TWO CHILDREN, EFFIE MAY AND THOMAS, AT 11, PRIORY STREET, CHURCH STREET, DRYPOOL, HULL (CWGC ADDRESS & 15, CRANBOURNE STREET, HULL (WAR PENSION ADDRESS). HE WORKED AS A NORTH EASTERN RAILWAY  LABOURER.

HE ENLISTED IN HULL, AS PRIVATE, 38256, OF THE EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. TRANSFERRED AS 139212, TO THE MACHINE GUN CORPS. HE DIED OF PNEUMONIA, ON 10/05/1918, AGED 29. HE IS BURIED AT BOULOGNE EASTERN CEMETERY, FRANCE.

HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS WIDOW, WHO MOVED TO 3, MILBANK STREET, MIDDLESBOROUGH

EFFIE. HIS SISTER, JANE ANN BLOWMAN, DIED OF INFLUENZA, IN HULL, IN 1918, AGED 22.
HIS NAME IS RECORDED ON THE ON ST MARYS CHURCH, LOWGATE, WAR MEMORIAL.
