BORN HULL 1875. SON OF JOSEPH E. & JANE ELIZABETH BLYTH. A FORMER RESERVIST FROM 10/1/1910, RECALLED AT THE OUTBREAK OF WAR. DIED OF HEART FAILURE AT RETFORD MILITARY HOSPITAL. BURIED HULL WITH FULL MILITARY HONOURS. WAS PREVIOUSLY A WHARF FOREMAN FOR THE NER. HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL ON 9TH DECEMBER 1915. HE LEFT A WIDOW, HILDA MAUD BLYTH AT 27 ROSEBERRY STREET, OFF ALBERT AVENUE, HULL. SHE WAS NOT AWARDED A PENSION UNTIL 1917 DUE TO JOSEPH BLYTH NOT DYING ON ACTIVE SERVICE. HE IS BURIED IN HULL WESTERN CEMETERY WITH HIS WIFE’S NAME ON THE GRAVE.
