BORN HOLLYM, YORKSHIRE, 1885. SON OF JOHN BOASMAN (1846-1923) & SARAH ANN BOASMAN (1854-1927), OF HOLLAND, WITHERNSEA. ONE OF NINE CHILDREN, AND SON OF A FARMER IN PATRINGTON. HE WAS EMPLOYED AS A GENERAL LABOURER. HIS WIFE LILLIAN AND DAUGHTER AMY BOASMAN, LIVED AT 92, WYNBURG STREET, HULL & 4, ELSIE VILLAS, HOLLAND STREET, HULL (CWGC ADDRESS).

HE ENLISTED IN HULL. HE SERVED AS A GUNNER, WITH THE ROYAL FIELD ARTILLERY, WAS KILLED IN ACTION, ON 27/08/1918, AGED 33. HE IS COMMEMORATED ON THE VIS-EN-ARTOIS MEMORIAL, FRANCE.
HIS BROTHER, PRIVATE, GEORGE LEWIS BOASMAN, 22725, 7TH EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT, WAS KILLED ON 12/05/1917, AGED 26. HE LIVED WITH HIS WIFE, HARRIET, AT 25 MARSHALL STREET, HULL. THE BOASMAN BROTHERS, ARE THE ONLY TWO BOASMAN CASUALTIES OF THE WAR.

BOTH BROTHERS ARE COMMEMORATED ON THE HOLLYM WW1 MEMORIAL.
