Booth, Albert Edward.

BORN HULL 1886. SON OF GEORGE BOOTH (1854-1926) & EMMA CROOK (1857-1913), OF CHAPEL LANE, HULL WHO LOST THREE SONS IN THE WAR.

ALBERT EDWARD BOOTH ENLISTED IN HULL. SERVED WITH THE DURHAM LIGHT INFANTRY, THE NORTH STAFFORDSHIRE REGIMENT, AND TRANSFERRED TO THE 2ND EAST LANCASHIRE REGIMENT. HE WAS KILLED IN ACTION, ON THE SOMME, ON 02/04/1918, AGED 31 AND IS COMMEMORATED ON THE POZIERES MEMORIAL

HIS BROTHER, MERCHANT SEAMAN, FREDERICK BOOTH WAS LOST AT SEA, ON THE ‘QUEEN EMPRESS’ IN 1916.

HIS OTHER BROTHER, ABLE SEAMAN, JOHN WILLIAM BOOTH, ROYAL NAVY, 176827, HMS ‘SOUTHAMPTON’, DIED AT SEA, ON 31/05/1916, AGED 42
