Brady, William Nicholas

BORN HULL 1896. HULL PAL. SON OF GEORGE EDWARD BRADY (1872-1932) & HANNAH SUTCLIFFE (1877-1934), OF 68 OSBORNE STREET, HULL (1911 CENSUS) AND LATER COTTINGHAM.

SON OF  A GENERAL DEALER. HE HAD ONE BROTHER AND FOUR SISTERS. HE ASSISTED IN HIS FATHER’S BUSINESS AND WORKED AS A NORTH EASTERN RAILWAY (NER) SIGNALLER.

HE ENLISTED IN THE HULL PALS. SERVED WITH THE 13TH EYR IN EGYPT AND FRANCE. KILLED IN ACTION AT SERRE ON 13/11/1916, AGED 20. COMMEMORATED ON THE THIEPVAL MEMORIAL TO THE MISSING.

HIS NAME APPEARS ON THE NER ROLL  OF HONOUR. HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS MOTHER, HANNAH.
