Born Hull, 1868. Enlisted on 15th July 1915. Served with the 3rd and 4th East Yorkshire Regiment. Transferred to the 162 Pro. Co. Royal Defence Corps. Discharged on 5th May 1917. Awarded the Silver War Badge (No: 172768). Died of Tuberculosis, on 12th Feb 1918.
He had joined the East Yorkshire Regiment in 1889. In civilian life he worked as an Oil Mill Labourer. He married at Hull, in 1890. His army effects were left to his widow, Margaret Macintosh Brand (born 13/4/1871), at 1, Richards Place, York Street, Hull (1911 Census) and 8, Willow Terrace, York Street, Hull (War Pension address). They had two daughters and thrss sons.
